SEMINARS/ CONFERENCES:

The faculty is actively interested in updating themselves on the latest in the field of Microbiology. They are regularly attending seminars, conferences, workshops and CME programmes not only inside and outside the state.

CAMPAIGNS

We are an active participant in ICTC (Integrated Testing and Counselling Centre) whereby we are spreading awareness about HIV/ASDS. Pre-test and Post-Test Counseling is done here. We had here awareness and vaccination Programme for H1N1 virus. We also had and awareness and vaccination Programme for Rubella virus done by Dr.Sangeetha

As a part of HICC (Hospital Infection Control Committee} we are doing the following programmes:

2. ICTC Inauguration
3. Needle stick injury
4. Post Exposure prophylaxis
5. OT sterilization
6. Oral polio vaccine- Awareness programme
7. Biomedical waste Management
8. Swine flu vaccine- Awareness programme and vaccination
9. Serodiagnosis of rubella in Health care professionals and counseling for vaccin
10. Need for hepatitis B vaccine amongst medical students.
11. MRSA-Need for screening of HCW in critical areas
12. ESBL- Importance of ESBL in a hospital set up.
13. Management of cases with Metallo -beta lactamase producing Pseudomonas.
